July SAM Assembly 206 Meeting
The July meeting of SAM Assembly 206 will be on Monday, July 20th at 7:00 PM in the meeting room at Hilgers House.
We’re doing something a little different this month; instead of having a speaker, we’re going to play a game. The game is Werewolf. It’s a social deduction party game in which players are secretly assigned roles—villagers or werewolves—and work to identify opponents through bluffing and debate. So what does this have to do with magic? Well, it has two aspects that are important for a magician. The first is telling lies and being believable when doing so. The other is empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. To perform effective magic, we need to know what our spectators are thinking and feeling. If you want to get a head start on the game, you can read the rules ahead of time.
The feedback sessions are helping many members refine their routines! Bring something you're working on and would like helpful notes to make even better.
Open Mic follows the feedback session, so bring that new trick you just got and really want to show to people.
If you have a public show to promote or anything else you'd like included in a future newsletter, please email me at J Weldon.
I’ll see everyone at the next meeting on Monday, July 20th, at 7:00 PM in the Hilgers House meeting room.
